CM007814Technical Math III
Open to: Grades: 12, 11, 10, 9 Credits: 4 Credits Terms: Technical Math III prepares students for more advanced mathematics courses and helps diverse learners master algebraic and geometric concepts that are essential for success in today’s high-tech workplace. The course employs an interactive, workplace-centered approach to teaching algebra and geometry concepts. In this course the students will be engaged in mathematics appropriate for rigorous secondary-level first-year algebra and geometry courses, and experience an instructional design that is based on a contextual, hands-on approach to learning. Algebra topics covered will include Integers, Scientific Notation, Using Formulas, Solving Linear Equations, Linear Functions, and Nonlinear Functions. The geometry portion will consist of interactive discovery activities where students create the physical environment for discovering an important geometric concept, learn the concept by analyzing the information, and then master it by practicing the material within the context of appropriate workplace applications. This course also works to ensure students reach college placement proficiency levels on the Arithmetic test of the Accuplacer. Required:Career Center Application
