Fiber Optics Photonics

Open to: Grades: 12, 11

Credits: 4 Credits

Terms: Spring Semester

This course is devoted entirely to ray and wave optics, lenses, Optical Network installation, laser technology, and fiber optics. This course has been approved by The Fiber Optics Association. Students are prepared to become Certified Fiber Optic Technicians (CFOT).

Students will apply knowledge gained throughout the semester in lab work using state of the art equipment, such as: Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), Fusion Splicer, Video Microscope, Lasers, etc.
