C0001851Film Making & Digital Editing
Open to: Grades: 12, 11 Credits: 8 Credits Terms: Fall OR Spring Semester This is a hands-on course designed to immerse the student in the fundamentals of film making through non-linear digital editing and compositing using the Apple G-5 based Final Cut Pro and a variety of integrated software such as Flash, Adobe PhotoShop, AfterEffects, and 3D Carrara.
Each student will be introduced to the basic concepts of film/video production and explore the skills and knowledge involved in directing, working with actors, cinematography, lighting, picture, and sound editing, and become familiar with the processes of digitizing and manipulating video in the computer.
Working individually or with a team, students will create a variety of video and digital imaging projects, including a sixty second commercial, a short documentary or a fictional story. These projects will require time outside of the normal classroom and digital editing lab environment. Required:Career Center Application
Notes:
Students meeting certain requirements may receive college credit at Champlain College, Castleton College, and The New England Institute of Art and Communication.
Class is in both Block 2 AND 3.
