Open to: Grades: 12, 11, 10 Credits: 4 Credits Terms: Semester This introductory course will give students a thorough background in basic accounting procedures used for business or personal use. Topics covered include: journalizing, posting, financial statements, taxes, and payroll. The use of business simulations and the computer software, QuickBooks, will enhance the materials learned in this course and give the student a realistic picture of the business world. The accounting procedures presented will also serve as a sound background for either employment or preparation in studying business courses in college. This course will give you a competitive edge in the financial field. Three college credits are available from CCV for students that qualify, membership in FBLA is highly recommended. Students in this course may be extened an opportunity to work at the Career Center branch of the Brattleboro Savings and Loan. Required:Career Center Application
